Episode 6 of the WFTL Show took place on Tuesday, September 23, 2008. My guest was Aaron Seigo, the leader and spiritual leader of the KDE project. Aaron also happens to be a huge proponent of free and open source software, including open standards, as a force for good in our world.
We discussed FOSS' role in the developing world, in education, and from a cultural standpoint. We also talked about open standards including the open document format and how open formats are the key to accessing today's information in the future.
Mark T called in to chat with Aaron about KDE 4.1. Mark worked hard to get a "hell yeah!" from Aaron. You see, Mark is so blown away by the features of KDE 4.1 that he has trouble believing it works. Seriously, he says that.
