Hi there. I think you probably got into a configuration labyrinth! When it happened to me, I tought I was just trying too hard to get everything perfect. So, I did reinstall Suse 10 french with everything turned on (modem printer etc.) and subito presto! All seemed to be fine.
Maybe I was lucky?
By the way... Am I the only one with a french version of SuSe 10?
