I recently installed the newest Kanotix and ... What can I say ?
It is just the best !
If you like Knoppix but hate the fact that after you install it you can't upgrade it the right way ... Give Kanotix a shot :0)
After I installed it Kanotix was upgraded with an easy ...
apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade
I kept all the default settings ...
And I upgraded EVERYTHING from K.D.E. 3.4 to 3.5
And ALL the apps upgraded with NO PROBLEMS !
The Hardware detection is GREAT !
