I just purchased a copy of Moving to Linus 2nd ed, and am trying to install the CD. The boot process starts, and the screen half fills with a graphic, and then the page disappears and I get the Black Screen of Death, a penguin, and the message, "MP-BIOS bug: 8254 timer not connected to IO-APIC. audit (1138032826.924:0) initialized." Then nothing happens. I have an AVERATEC notebook computer, purchased last year, 512 MB RAM, 1.8GHz, XP Home edition OS. Any suggestions? George
