Why HTML in the Forum messages?

Just curious. No good reason for html that I am aware of.

How about posting replies to forum messages without going to the Preview page first?

Merv

More ranting

Why do I have to supply a Subject to a message thread?

You say Post New Comment when that isn't what you mean. Isn't it a Reply?

This should be a new comment with a new Subject which I just supplied. I'll bet it is in the old thread.

Stupid software.

Where are the smileys? More fun than html.

Have fun

Re: Why HTML in Forum messages?

I don't need to be BOLD or anything else to give someone some information. You young farts put appearance before content, it seems to this old codger. Publishing is not the only way to do things.

What is the difference between filtered and full html. I'll never use either but like the learning process.

If you want to convert my text to HTML, go ahead but why ask me? Give me a bit more speed on this site, that would be appreciated. Now to preview this message so that I can post it...

After I have posted a message, how about a way back to where I was in the forum?

Re: Why HTML in Forum messages?

Hi Merv,

The reason for HTML is so you can bold certain words, or italicize others. You might want to refer somebody to a link elsewhere without them having to cut and paste it.

As for the preview, it's so you can make sure your HTML works. Hope that helps.
