G'day Marcel
I'm a newby to Linux and only downloaded Ubuntu Linux about a week ago. From what I've read on-line since then I seem to have made a good choice as Ubuntu sounds like it's one of the easier to use distros. In searching for books on Ubuntu Linux to help me get started I came across your book "Moving to Ubuntu Linux" which comes out in bookstores here in Australia on 30th June 06 (can't wait!!!).
I also noticed on the bookseller's website that you have another book coming out on 30th Sept 06 called "Moving to free software".
I can't find any info here on your site about this book, can you give us the low down on what the book covers (in a little more detail than just "moving to free software").
Thanks
David Marsh
Moving to UBUNTU! Hi David
Hi David:
I also very interested to take a hold of the books my self. But, here in San Diego, California they are not in the books Store yet. I am very new to LINUX, and I browse the internet for days trying to find a affordable system with any pre-installed Linux Operating System. Most of them way over and close to $3,000 and the least was $1,500. But then I came across a UBUNTU PRE-INSTALLED system. So I will advice you to check on the following webpage: www.system76.com and the write me back and tell me how you like it. I know that you all the way up in Australia, but i think that is worth to try to get one of this Ubuntu Pre-installed Systems before these prices go up.
