Hello Rick,
Regarding the slide show, I'm both the copyright holder and the person you should ask. I know you want to use it for your class, so go ahead and edit it, or tweak it, but let me see the final product as well.
Incidentally, I fully intend to provide an up to date version of that slide show in the next two to three weeks. I'm just in the middle of trying to finish my fourth book and that needs to happen before I jump back into that slide presentation.
