Hi i am getting a new computer from dell next week and would like to know if there is a way to
install KNOPPIX on without reformat the harddrive.
i am new to linux but found that
knoppix is the one i like best of
all the download i have done.

Knoppix, by its nature, is a live distribution that runs from the CD (or DVD) so you don't need to install it. You can create a persistent home directory to save your settings and any files you might be working with, and that's a good idea. However, if you do decide to install it (you'll get better performance) be warned that you will be partitioning and formatting your drive.
