I recently installed Mandriva Linux 2006 on my AMD Athlon 6400+ based machine. Everything worked extremely well during the install, except taht i couldn't connect to my Epson {erfection 1660 Photo scanner (USB). Basically what happens is that HardDrake does not recognize the scanner exists, however when I run the install manually, it sees the scanner, but does not save any of the information. Since other USB devices connect (external hard drive), I'm confused.
Anyone have any ideas?

P.S. I did have it working perfectly on an older version of Mandrake and a PIII...I may have to revert to it!

I think if you want to connect the printer via USB you must edit ( I thuink it is the fstabs file) and give the printer an name to pointing to the usb port. Im use ubuntu edgy eft and a HP usb printer and have no problems at all printing with it. You can also go to linux.org I believe and see if the printer is supported and if it needs a special driver
