Visit the Linux Journal Website and you'll find a free chapter from my latest book, "Moving to Ubuntu Linux". This particular chapter occurs very near to the end of the book and it is called "Turning Ubuntu Into Kubuntu". If you've already purchased the book, you have my sincere thanks. If you haven't and you'd like a little sample, you can check it out FREE! Just visit yon friendly URL. Enjoy!

Linux
OK this is the third book I own of yours and I am still trying to install Linux with some success. No success yet but hopeful. Its not as easy as you describe on Callforhelp. I now have just purchased your Ubuntu book ( which is the version that I am trying to use) Kubuntu actually because Ubuntu did not work on my PC. Why am I writing this??? Because I am frustrated and its not easy
Maybe this time

Re: Linux
Hello John,
Sorry you are having problems. Ubuntu's install is generally pretty painless so it would be helpful if you described the problems you are experiencing. Also, if you want some good community involvement while you work your way through this, join my WFTL-LUG and ask on the mailing list. You are guaranteed to get some very enthusiastic help.
Seriously, though. The earlier books came with Knoppix which, I grant you, did not have an easy installer (I made a point of mentioning that in the book and suggested alternative Linux distributions). That said, Ubuntu and Kubuntu tend to be frightfully simple to install so it would be good to know what kind of problems you experienced.
Join the WFTL-LUG. Let's work through it.
