I am a true newbie to Linux, trying to switch from "that other operating system." I have a DLink wireless card, but I don't know how to go about getting Knoppix to recognize it. I found one post on-line that says "create a configuration file" with a described code. Problem is, I don't know how even to create a file yet. Is there a "how to" get Knoppix to recognize a wireless card out there somewhere that I've not stumbled on? The card is a DLink DWL-G650. Don |

Well, I clowned around enough that I got the system to recognize the card. Now I'm stuck on how to configure the network. I know the system is recognizing the card because it reports back its MAC address. When I try to configure it, though, I get "Device not found."
"One lonely night upon the stair, I met a man who wasn't there." I think my machine is having that sort of experience with the card. Any ideas, besides getting a shrink for both of us? Thanks.
