I just reinstalled Xandros on an old but dependable P2-500. I have a USRobotics Sportster 56K X2 v34 internal modem in it. Last time I did this set up, Xandros found my modem when I 1st used the Conneck Wiz. Since most ISPs don't support X2 anymore, I am stuck at 33.6 but it worked. This time, however, Conneck Wiz does not see the modem at all. It's an ISA modem. Old, harware, not a winmodem. I am a newbie to Linux, but since I live in Rural freezing Ontario, I have the time and desire to learn. So... can anyone give me an idea as to what to try to get my modem working. Xandros itself, Ver 3.01, works fine. I just can't get on the net to start doing stuff with it. I tried both ISA slots and a different hardware ISA slot 33.6 Atech(Rockwell Chipset) Modem and had the same result. Thanx, Chappy |
