Every once in a while, I'm going to post something that catches me at the moment; some Linux tip (or trick) that I thought was interesting and that you might find useful. Yes, it kind of leaves you up to the vagueries of your humble host, but it is my site <insert appropriate smiley here>. I'll try to keep this list up to date, but anything here will likely show up on the WFTL-LUG first. So, without further Adieu and in no particular order, here's my list of tips.

Books:
At present i own these books: Unix User's Interactive Workbook by John McMullen, good book on command line and vi editor:
SuSe 9 Bible by Justin Davies, Roger Whittaker, and William von Hagen,
very good book on how to install suse. And of cours the book on Linux for Dummies by Dee Ann Leblanc I think wee all start with this one.
My most recent one Unix Shells by Example 4 edition by Ellie Quigley for i just started to read and practice doing shells ( something i whant to learn). The last one Linux Desktop Hacks by Nicholas Petreley & Jono Bacon, well this one i can't comment for some of the stuff in it well I use SuSe 10 & some of the stuff he writes dont exist in SuSe 10 (certain file they mention) so i try to find them but cant.(example .initrc well that file dont exist on suse 10)& the worst is that is all the info he give you on the file not /etc/.initrc or usr/.initrc what to do.
I do a lot of reading on the net but find it to hard on the eyes.(not young anymore)
Everybody mentions that we have to edite some files to make our distro or desktop more practicle, thats fine but if the file dont exist on the distro we have how do we go about finding them I am sure those file exist maybe the name is not the same but at least they should point us in a most likely direction.(THAT THE TYPE OF BOOKS THAT ARE MISSING)(I am not shouting) Like most of us we are all new to linux or window at that. That the reason i whant to leave window you cant do notting in window other than what window wants.Book on installing & partitioning are to many to mention, enough of those books.
I am looking for book on tweaking editeting file the how too's and learn the inner working of the system. The one that i do have mention just a few phrase on the subject and thats it & then they leave you hanging on the subject wandering what to do next. I am sure there are some books out there to do just that, but were wich one is the best or at least for beginer. I dont whant to go back to school but i still whant to learn.I dont mind spending good money on books as long as the book delivers the hole story not just bit & pieces, or it tell you you have to go and buy 2 to 3 other books to finally add the missing pieces together. Any suggestion on title of books keeping in mind for beginners or inter.., levels would be appreciated.
