The captchas are cool and all but some of them are too hard to make out, they are just not very clear, the letters are too squashed together - it's too garbled. I don't know if you've ever come across this yet but I have. You get an error message because of this. |

Thanks for writing, beoenduser. The captcha system I am using here is reCaptcha. I love this system because it uses captchas to help decode old books that have been digitized, but where the OCR program may be having problems. You, as the person being challenged by the captcha, are helping to decipher words that aren't OCR friendly. You can read more about reCaptcha by clicking here. In the meantime, what can you do if you are having trouble reading the challenge captcha? Let's look at one of these reCaptcha challenges.
To the right of the box labeled "Type the two words:", there are three vertical buttons. The first button will recycle the challenge, offering you two new words. This might make it easier to decipher. You second option (the speaker icon) is to listen to a string of numbers being read out. Turn up your volume, listen close, then type in the numbers. Hopefully, one of these solutions will help.
