Star Trek fan films

Yes, you guessed it, yet another blog posting that has nothing to do with Linux. One of my regular must visit Websites is a difficult one to explain. In fact, the best way to understand Memepool is to visit Memepool.com. You can discover all sorts of cool — and often very strange — things there.

What I discovered recently, was a collection of Star Trek fan films, some of them pretty darn good. Now, I was already familiar with Star Trek New Voyages, a lovingly crafted continuation of the original series voyages with Kirk, Spock, McCoy, and all the gang. The consulting producer is none other than Eugene Roddenberry, Jr., son of Gene Roddenberry, the Great Bird of the Galaxy who created the original Star Trek.

Memepool just happened to direct me to three new Star Trek fan sites providing even more continuing episodes from the Star Trek universe. So Enterprise was cancelled . . . that doesn’t mean there is no new Star Trek to watch. Check out the following.

Seriously, some of them are really worth checking out and they span the [ahem] generations. What amazed me most, I guess, is how long some of these have been around and how much people have put into this. Hidden Frontier seems to have been around for quite a while.  Six seasons now.

Live long, and prosper.
